Obituary of John C. Iacovazzi
John C. Iacovazzi, 56, of Mililani, Hawaii for the past 38 years, died unexpectedly on Tuesday December 18, 2018 at his home.
Born in Scranton, he is the son of Joseph C. Iacovazzi, Taylor and the late Mary Coleman Iacovazzi. John was a 1980 graduate of Riverside High School and after graduation he enlisted to faithfully serve our country with the United States Air Force and was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base, Honolulu Hawaii. During his time served, John received numerous ribbons, citations and medals for all his accomplishments. John was a member of the American Legion Post 221 in Carbondale, PA.
John’s life in Hawaii was very fast paced and was always on the move. He attended the University of Hawaii and worked for several employers like, Hawaii Stationary and Duty Free at the airport. He was currently employed by Mokulele Airlines as the Director of Airport Services and was very dedicated to his position and employees.
John known as “Brother,” was a kind, fun and caring person who was loved by all. He adored his family and made sure he visited a few times a year to attend family weddings, graduations, birthdays and other family functions. He also enjoyed going to the casino while he was visiting. To his family and friends who visited him in Hawaii, he was the greatest tour guide and enjoyed showing everyone the islands.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother, Joseph C. Jr. and wife, Linda, Taylor; two sisters, Mary Kay Nealon and husband, John, Clarks Summit and Gina, Taylor; several nieces and nephews; Dustin Iacovazzi (Godson) and wife, Erica, Joseph Iacovazzi, III and wife, Lauren, Lindsay Iacovazzi, Erica, Maura, Catie and Nicole (Goddaughter) Nealon; twin great nieces, Kaylee and Brooke Iacovazzi; companion, Glenn and several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
The Iacovazzi Family would like to Thank John’s close friends in Hawaii for helping us get through this difficult time that would not happen without their support. A SPECIAL Thank You to Glenn, Patty, Collin, Sheila and Tony.
Family and friends are invited to attend John’s funeral Mass, which will be held on Saturday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church 1403 Jackson St. Scranton. Friends may call Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 10 am at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St, Taylor.
