Obituary of Lorraine Semian Novack
Lorraine Semian Novack, 76, of Taylor, entered eternal rest Friday morning surrounded by her children at the Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Taylor.
Born in Scranton, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Dorin Semian. Following her graduation from Taylor High School in 1961, she worked as a bookkeeper with Kurlancheeks Furniture in Duryea. In 1969, Lorraine married the late Paul Novack, and was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother. Always concerned for others, Lorraine was a good friend to many and eagerly struck up conversation with anyone she encountered. Her family, children, and grandchildren were her greatest joys. Her baking abilities were celebrated, with many regarding her kolache nut rolls to have no equal. Pepper cookies were also a signature recipe. She enjoyed shopping and listening to country and gospel music.
She is survived by her son Paul, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, and granddaughters Madeline and Michaela, of Selinsgrove; her son Mark and partner Marie Charney, of Taylor; her daughter Kimberly Kalteski, son-in-law Nathan, and granddaughters Ava and Brooke, of Moosic; a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Meholic, of Clarks Summit; a brother, Michael “Sonny” Semian and his wife, Jo Marie, of Scranton; and several nieces and nephews.
