Obituary of Steven J. Horoszko
Steven J. Horoszko, 73, of Moosic, died Thursday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Township.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Stanley Horoszko and Mary Danilovitz. Steve attended Johnson School, where he received his certification for welding. A proud veteran, Steve served our country with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge Rifle, with the First Army National Rifle and Pistol Team. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a welder for the Ironworkers Local 489, Pittston. Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed, hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening and working on restoring his 55 Chevy. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was a civil war and military enthusiast.
Surviving are three sons, Steve J., Taylor; Michael, Scranton and Chris, California; a brother, Joseph Paskiewicz, Corpus Christi, Texas; two grandchildren, Ethan and Abigail.
Family and friends are invited to attend Steve’s funeral, which will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor with a blessing by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli. Interment with military honors will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m.
