I am so sorry to your family for losing John. I only knew him at his time at the Gino J Merli. I loved and was honored to care for him. He was such a great man with a great heart.

Marge, Chrissy, & Brian,
On behalf of my family, I offer condolences and send continuous prayers up for you and your extended family.
Rest easy knowing that at this moment John is pain free with our Lord and Saviour hearing His reassurance “Well done, good and faithful servant...you were faithful over a few things, now I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” -Matthew 25:21.
It has been an honor and a privilege to get to know John. And I am even more honored that my children were blessed with knowing him and experiencing his genuine love for others and passion for God, Country, and always being the source of smile, laugh, or cry!
His dedication and service to his country is unprecedented and should be celebrated as a heroic benchmark in the eyes of every American. He is the reason that my children’s grandpa taught them to look in the eyes and shake the hand of every United States Armed Service member that they encounter.
As a captain of Riverside’s 1996 District Championship football team, I had the pleasure of experiencing John’s unparrelled Viking Pride! Up or down, his uplifting voice could always be heard echoing throughout the stadium cheering on his Vikes!
On behalf on our Riverside Viking teams of the late 90’s, we salute John and his passion and love for each and every student-athlete to put on that red helmet.
May the work of this servant be amplified and celebrated so those that are here and those that follow can emulate all that is good from this glorious life!
