Obituary of Susan Dorin Yackobovicz

Susan Dorin Yackobovicz, 95, of Taylor, died Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. Her beloved husband, Joseph died January 26, 2013 and together they celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Born and educated in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Rusnak Dorin. Sue dedicated her life to raising her family.  She was a parishioner of St. George’s Orthodox Church, Taylor.  In the summer, she enjoyed her vegetable garden and canning the fruits of her labor.  Her family was the center of her life and the holidays brought her joy when she was surrounded by their love.  She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Domin, Dickson City and Deborah Pierce, Taylor; a son, Joseph Jr., Taylor; five grandchildren, Ronald Jr. and Christina Pierce, David and Paul Domin and Pamela Kobierecki; nine great grandchildren, Courtny, Max and Cali Domin; Mark, Michael and Katie Kobierecki; Everly Ann and Gwendolyn Elizabeth Pierce and Kolten Dylan Rixford; nieces and nephews,

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Michael and five sisters, Helen Cole, Anna Labonich, Mary Dorin, Liz Semian and Margaret Gawel.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sue’s funeral which will begin on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home 704 union St. Taylor followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in St. George’s Orthodox Church 743 S. Keyser Ave. Taylor by the Very Rev. Mark Leasure, pastor.  Interment will follow in St. George's Orthodox  Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday 5 to 7 p.m.
