Obituary of Peter Rusnak

Peter Rusnak, 90, of Taylor, died Sunday at home.  His beloved wife the former Marie Piaski died August 14, 1997 and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

 

Born in Taylor, on June 23, 1928, he was the son of the George and Mary Boga Rusnak.  Peter served our country with the United Sates Marines during World War II.  During this time Peter was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal and the China Burma India Ribbon.  In 1962, he joined the Scranton Police Department, where he faithfully served the department for 26 years. 

 

Surviving are three children, Ronald Rusnak, Gary Rusnak and Cynthia Jones; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren.

 

A son, Peter and daughter, Susan Damask, three brother, John, George and Andrew Rusnak and three sisters, Dorothy Rusnak, Mary Fooksman and Sylvia Suchi preceded him in death.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend Peters blessing service which will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Semian Funeral Home 704 Union, Taylor by the Rev. Eduard Shestak, St. Nicholas Byzantine and St. Marys Byzantine Churchs.  Entombment Fairview Memorial Park.  Friends may call Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 am.
