Obituary of Arlene Pliss Sika

Arlene Savitski Pliss Sika, 87, of Taylor died Friday morning at home.  Her first husband, Henry Pliss died September 7, 1973 and her second husband Michael Sika died April 7, 2007.

 

Born and educated in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Chapla Savitski.  Prior to her retirement, Arlene worked for RCA and retired from Thompson Electronics.  She was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Basilica.  A woman of many enjoyments, Arlene enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling, dancing and listening to the polkas and was an avid Elvis fan.  Her family was the focal point in her life and she will be dearly missed.

 

Surviving are her grandchildren, Patricia Rude and husband, James, Madison Township; Leah Quintero and Paige Pliss, both of Taylor; Todd Zaladonis and wife, Rachel, Townsend, DE and Michael Zaladonis and wife, Elizabeth Stewartsville, N.J.; her daughter-in-law and care giver, Robin Pliss, Taylor; seven great grandchildren, Alecia, Lucia, Roman and Benjamin Quintero; Penelope Rude; Claire and Colin Zaldonis; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

 

A son, Ronald Pliss and a brother John Savitski Jr., preceded her in death.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend Arlene’s blessing service which will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor.  Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m
