Michael Ambrose

Obituary of Michael A. Ambrose

Michael Anthony Ambrose aka Mike or Mikey to his family and friends, was born August 14, 1984. He passed away at his parent’s home on October 7, 2018.  He was 34 years old. Mike lived in the Minooka section of Scranton and was the son of Bruce and Kathleen Barrett Ambrose, Moosic.  He was a 2002 graduate of Riverside High School and attended Wilkes University.

To know Mike was to love him.  He was a kind, sweet, gentle soul, a man true and pure of heart.  Along with being a gifted musician, he was an incredible poet, talented writer, and master storyteller.  He loved college football, especially the Temple Owls and he had a lifetime love of baseball, always rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  He was the best brother to Ali and Matty and the best son any parents could ask for.  He was handsome beyond words with green eyes that twinkled and a smile that lit up the room.   Needless to say, his entire family is heartbroken at this tragic loss.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Alison Ambrose, Moosic, and his brother, Matthew Ambrose, Incline Village, NV.   Left behind is his best buddy and constant companion, his dog, Muggsy the Chug, whom he loved beyond imagination. Also surviving are numerous aunts and uncles including, Evelyn Ambrose, Patrick Barrett and Francis Warkomski, Joseph and Maria Klebauskas, John and Sheila Opsasnick, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Celia Rysz Ambrose and his maternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Coyne Barrett.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mike’s funeral which will be Friday at 10 am in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor.  Friends may call Thursday 4-7 P.M.  Please visit www.semiancares.com to share memories or extend condolences.
