Obituary of Marjorie Ruth Culver Wastello
Marjorie Ruth Culver Wastello, 86, of Taylor, died on Friday evening at Allied Skilled Nursing Center. Her beloved husband is Harlan and on June 25, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Born in Ross Township, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Harriet E. Edwards Culver. Marjorie was a 1950 graduate of Shickshinny High School and later graduated from Wilkes Barre Business School. Early in her career, she worked at various area businesses in a clerical capacity beginning at Motor Twins, Wilkes-Barre, then leaving the work force to raise her family. Upon returning to the work force, she was employed at Sturdywear/Vermont Sportswear and retired as a telemarketer from L&L Promotions. She was a member of St. Paul’s Independent Bible Church, Taylor. Marjorie was a country girl, who was an outstanding homemaker and cook. Her holiday and Sunday dinners were enjoyed and appreciated, but her roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy will long be remembered. Over the years, she traveled, especially to Atlantic City, enjoyed music and singing while doing her daily chores.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Denise, Taylor; a son, Terrill and his wife, Linda; two twin grandsons, Brian and Ryan, all Old Forge.
Private funeral services will be held at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor. Interment will be in Bloomingdale Cemetery, Ross Township. Memorial contributions maybe made to St. Paul’s Church, 401 W. Grove St. Taylor, 18517 or to any local animal shelter.
