Obituary of Carole Roberts

Carole Lipieko Roberts, 83, of the Glendale section of Pittston Township and formerly of the Greenwood section of Moosic, died Monday July 30 at Moses Taylor Hospital.  Her husband, Leonard died June 27, 1994.

 

Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Veronica Gutowski Lipieko.  Carol attended Taylor Schools and worked as a sewing machine operator in the garment industry for many years.  She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church, Scranton.  Throughout her life, Carole enjoyed reading, attending events with her friends and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved life and cared deeply for everyone in her life.

 

Surviving is a daughter and caregiver, Karen Catalano and husband, Phillip, Pittston Twp.; two sons, Rev. Deacon Dr. Leonard Roberts, Bloomfield, New Jersey and Scott Roberts and wife, Diane, Evans, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jason Catalano and wife, Sarah, Jessica Talarico and husband, Nick, Erin Johnston and husband, Ryan, Rebecca Catalano and companion, Chad Vrabel, and Arianna and Christopher Roberts; eleven great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Donna Roberts, nieces, and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by brothers, Michael, Frank and John as well as sisters, Wanda Moher, Ann Stepelevitch and Janet Rudat.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Polish National Cathedral, 529 E. Locust St. Scranton, 18505.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 10 at 10 am in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, 529 E. Locust St. Scranton. Private interment will be in the parish cemetery.
