Obituary of Leslie Lanphear

Les Lanphear, 68, of Moosic went to be with his Lord and Savior, July 26, 2018. He is survived by his loving spouse of 43 years Gloria M. Glahn.

 Born in Watervliet, MI he was the son of the late Alfred and Olive Price Lanphear. Les grew up in Moosic, PA.

 He graduated from Riverside School District and attended Wilkes College afterward. He joined the Air Force and proudly served his country for four years. He was stationed in Taiwan from 1971-74. Then he married the love of his life, Gloria M. Glahn and remained faithful for the next 43 years.

 He was an accomplished home builder and carpenter. He began his own contracting business in Florida. He later returned to his home state of PA and continued his businesses there. He was well known for his attention to detail and completing the task well. He worked as a trusted manager for Ganz in Scranton, PA. Later he was the Senior Manager for Ameresco, Alternative Energies Company at Tobyhanna until his retirement.

He liked contributing to the community by volunteering with the Civil Air Patrol, the #207 unit at Tobyhanna Army Base; where his 3 sons and daughter were a part of the program. There he served as Commander for a number of years.

Les enjoyed his time serving in churches as elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher and many other positions. He was always welcomed for his sense of humor and faithfulness to the task.

 Finally, he was a member of Clarks Green Assembly of God.

Furthermore, Les was also fond of gardening, teaching, working on cars and restoring them, hunting, fishing and helping to homeschool his four children. He also enjoyed music and helping with worship groups, and his last band called “Back in the Daze.”

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons; Daniel and wife, Debbie of Moosic; Bradley and wife, Janna of Sisters Oregon; Kyle and wife, Samantha of Moosic; a daughter, Alicia Fontaine and husband, Alexander, of Elizabethville; a sister, Janalee Serwinski of Taylor; Six Grandchildren, Ethan Lanphear, Baron and Hugo Fontaine, Isaac, Ezekiel, and Isaiah Lanphear.

 He was preceded in death by a brother- in- law, John Serwinski.

Family and Friends are invited to attend Les’s celebration of life service which will be held Monday, August 6th, at 5:00 PM from the Clarks Green Assembly of God Church, 204 S Abington Rd, Clarks Green, PA 18411, by Rev. Daniel Miller, Les's Pastor. Friends may call at the church from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Intermnent with military honors by United States Air Force will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
