Obituary of Paul J. Salony

Paul Salony, 76, of Taylor, died Saturday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center.  He was the loving husband of Ann Marie Krzyscin.  The couple recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 18th.

Born March 13, 1942, he was the son of the late John Salony and Sophia Bilski Salony Sadowski Agostinelli.  Paul was a Graduate of West Scranton High School, Class of 1960, and furthered his education with an Associates of Applied Science in Electronics.  He was a proud Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam era.  Prior to retirement Paul was an electronic Technician with the former Tyco Simplex Grinnel Corp., Scranton.  Exceptionally knowledgeable and electronically inclined, he was always up to the task of repairing TVs’, computers and was known to be able to repair just about anything electronic.  He was an amateur radio enthusiast and a history buff.  He loved his pets and enjoyed playing the accordion.

A friendly, caring, and thoughtful man, Paul was known to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially his neighbors and family.  He was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Basilica Parish and a member of the American Radio Relay League.

Also surviving are two sons, Paul Salony and wife Lisa, South Abington Twp; and Jeffrey, Taylor; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Ryan Salony and a brother, Daniel Sadowski, Taylor.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paul’s funeral on Friday  at 9:15 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Ann’s Basilica, 1250 St. Ann St., Scranton. Entombment with Rite of Committal and military honors will follow in Cathedral Cemetery Mausoleum.  Friends may call  Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
