Raymond Labosky

Obituary of Raymond Labosky

Raymond Labosky, 75, of Moosic, died Tuesday afternoon at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Mary Alice Saita.

Born in Norwalk, Conn., on Feb. 2, 1943, he was the son of the late Raymond Labosky and Julia Garich Kostik. Ray was a graduate of West Scranton High School, working over 40 years at Keystone Automotive Operations as a construction engineer. He was a member of Queen of the Apostles Church, Avoca. In his earlier years, he enjoyed drag racing with his many friends.

Ray was a selfless man who prided himself on helping others before himself. He was a founding member of Glenmaura National Golf Club. You could always find him playing cards with his friends if he wasn’t riding his bicycle or enjoying a cup of coffee at Starbucks. One of Ray’s greatest accomplishments was riding his bike from San Francisco, Calif., to Laguna Beach, Calif., when he turned 70. He enjoyed traveling, especially to California, where he had many friends and thought of it as a second home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Chris Lange and husband, Rob, of Moosic; Nicole Kovalski and husband, Mike, of Moosic; four grandchildren, Emma and Olivia Lange, Moosic; and Julia and Michael Kovalski, Moosic; and a sister, Georgeann Shotto and husband, Paul, of Olyphant.

Visitation hours are Thursday from noon to 1:45 p.m. at Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor. Friends are invited to attend Ray’s funeral immediately following visitation hours with the Rev. Philip Sladicka officiating. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tommy’s Tomorrow c/o Allegrucci, 28 Tenth St., Wyoming, PA 18644.
