Obituary of Zenovia G. Pecuch

Zenovia G. Pecuch, age 98 of Tucson, Ariz., fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She was born to the late Very Rev. Father Gregory and Anastasia Soroka on March 2, 1920. She was preceded by her loving husband, Dr. William Pecuch; grandson, Derek; and great-grandson, Sergei.  

She is survived by her brother, the Very Rev. Father Igor Soroka; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Joseph Statkevicus, of Tucson, Ariz.; and her grandson, Joel. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Anastasia and Nicholas.

The Russian Orthodox Church and music were her passion and delight. She was a long-time member of Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Scranton. Here she devoted her time to teaching Sunday School, serving in the choir, and as the choir director. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society.

Upon moving to Tucson, she attended the Holy Resurrection Antiochian Orthodox Church where her strong faith and kindness was an inspiration to all that knew her.

Funeral services will be privately held in Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, West Scranton, by the Very Rev. Basil Micek, Pastor. Interment, Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery.
