Frank J. Stone, a resident of the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, died Tuesday.  His beloved wife the former Myfanwy McIlwee, died October 2, 1993.

Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Eugene and Josephine Osmolia Stone.  Frank served our country with the Army during WWII with company F 34th infantry.  He was decorated with the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal with three campaign stars.  Frank was a master mechanic, retiring from McKinney Products and also was a watch maker for many years.  He was a member of the Taylor American Legion Post 306.  Throughout the years, he enjoyed working on cars and playing the guitar.

To the Gino Merli Family, we could not have done this without you.  Your love and support will be forever cherished.  When entering the facility, we had a smile and when leaving the facility, we had a smile, knowing that our father was safe, sound, secure and receiving the best care in the world.  As Frank would say to each of the staff” You’re a good boy, you’re a good girl, I love you. We never walk alone. God Bless you and I cherish every one of you”
