Obituary of Evelyn F. Siminski

Evelyn F. Siminski, 90, of Taylor, passed away Tuesday evening  at Allied Hospice Care Center, Scranton.  Her loving and devoted husband Carl Siminski, Sr. died July 14, 2002.

 

Born June 25, 1927 in Scranton, she was the daughter to the late Thomas and Elisa Jenkins Francis. In 1944, she graduated from West Scranton High School. Evelyn was a very active and lifelong member of Bethania Presbyterian Church, West Scranton, the Junior Equality Club and the Red Hat Society.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  Evelyn had an exceptional qualitiy as an easy person to love and to know. She very much enjoyed attending the many activities and athletic events both of her children and grandchildren. Evelyn’s family would like to extend their gratitude and deep appreciation to her in home caregivers, Cindy Mickavicz and Laura Janes, to Dr. Glen Digwood, the nurses, aides and volenteers of Allied Hospice Care Center for their love and compassion so freely given to Evelyn.

 

Surviving are two sons; David and wife, Eva Siminski, Taylor;  Carl Jr. and wife, Joyce Siminski, Port St. Lucie, FL; a daughter, Barbara and husband, Jack Shockley, Snow Hill, Maryland;a brother, Thomas Francis and a sister, Joanne Francis,both of Scranton. Her loving grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, Michael, Kayla, Julia, Lauren, Brittney, Kelly and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Lukas, Ashley, Bria and Kira; nieces and nephews.

 

Family and Friends are invited to attend Evelyn’s funeral service on Friday which will begin at 2 p.m. in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor, by Evelyn’s Pastor, Rev. William Broadbeck.  Burial will follow in  Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.  Friends may call Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m..
