Obituary of Mark G. Balczeniuk
Mark G. Balczeniuk, 61, of Ormond Beach, Florida, died March 23 at Florida Memorial Hospital, Dayton Beach, Florida.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward S. and Angeline M. Molenda Balczeniuk. In 1975, Mark graduated from Scranton Prep High School and he furthered his education at the University of Scranton, where he received his bachelor’s and his master’s from Boston University.
He was a sci-fi fan who also enjoyed reading, working on the computer, dining, and walking on the picturesque beaches of Florida.
Mark was witty and had a dry sense of humor. He was a dedicated worker and good friend. He will be fondly missed by all those who had an opportunity to know him.
Mark was a bereavement counselor for Kindred Hospice, Dayton Beach, Florida
Surviving is a sister, Susan M. Konchar, Moosic; an Aunt and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mark’s funeral which will begin on Friday, May 4 at 9 am from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Peter’s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by Msgr. Dale R. Rupert. Interment will follow in St. Mary Czestochowa Cemetery, Moosic. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 pm.
