Obituary of Diane Yacopchak

Diane Yacopchak, 76, of Old Forge, entered into eternal rest Sunday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born April 8, 1941 in Old Forge, she was the only daughter to the late William and Anna Gambal Yacopchak. 

Diane was a graduate of Old Forge High School class of 1958, receiving her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Marywood University. Until her retirement, Diane was a devoted elementary teacher working for the Linden School District, Linden, N.J. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, Old Forge. Diane enjoyed going to the casinos and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. 

Surviving are several cousins including Mitty and Marie Woytowich, Wilkes-Barre

Family and friends are invited to attend Diane’s funeral, which will be held on Thursday beginning at 9:15 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, Pa. 18517, followed by services at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Orthodox, 512 Summer St., Old Forge, by the Rev. Peter Henry, rector. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Old Forge. 

Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Parastas services will begin at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Michael’s Orthodox Church.
