Joseph Haddock

Obituary of Joseph Edward Haddock

Joseph E. Haddock, 74, of Taylor, died Monday morning at home. He is survived by his wife Sharyn Nicholas Haddock and together they have celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Born in Dupont, he was the son of the late Edward and Pauline Olejnik Haddock.  Joe was a graduate of West Pittston High School and for a brief period of time, he served our country with the US Air Force.  Work was an important part of Joe’s life and he spent the majority of his career leading the weatherization program for the Scranton Lackawanna Human Development Agency.  He genuinely appreciated the work that he performed and the friendships that he made over the 30+ years spent with SLHDA.  Joe’s true passion was his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  “Pop Pop” was proud of the family he raised providing love, encouragement, and guidance to three generations.  Joe had a love for watching sporting events, his favorites were those of his grandchildren and great grandchildren which he would attend as often as he could.  He will always be remembered and admired for his devotion to his wife, his family and his work.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kim Haddock, Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Joseph Jr. and wife, Noelle, Roaring Brook Twp.; five grandchildren, Elyssia Rosky, Brooke Riviello, Kyle, Sean and Abigail Haddock; a grandson-in-law William Rosky Jr.; and three great grandchildren, Gianna and Olivia Rosky and Anthony Kissolovege Jr.

The family would like to thank Comprehensive Medical Home Care, especially Lynn and Katie, for the care, compassion, and companionship they provided.

Family and friends may call Friday from 4-6 at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor.  A blessing service by the Rev. Francis L. Pausell, will begin at 6 PM.
