Obituary of Donato J. Summa

Donato J. Summa, 68, a resident at the Riverside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Taylor and formerly of Shickshinny, died Tuesday at Hershey Medical Center.

 

Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Mark and Mary A. Haynik Summa.  Danny was a 1968 graduate of Riverside High School and Johnson School.  For several years, he worked for the Mayflower, Dorranceton Mill Work Inc. and retired from Valley Wood Craft, where he was a cabinet maker.  He was a Keystone Mountain Lakes Regional Council of Carpenters.  Throughout the years, he enjoyed hunting, but most of all he looked forward to watching his grandchildren at their sporting events.

 

Surviving are two daughters; Jennifer Summa and companion, Kevin Smith, Old Forge; Danielle Summa and companion Chris Wilcox, Lake Ariel; four sons, Mark, James and companion Nicole Revesz, all of Old Forge; Anthony, Kurtis and companion Kelsey Novak, all of Shickshinny; three grandsons, Phillip Jr. and Brandon Vahey and Hunter Smith; two sisters, Mary Lopez and husband, Luis, Taylor and Barbara Leggin, and husband, Steve, Belle Mead, NJ; nieces, nephews, cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by a daughter Melanie and a  sister, Grace Checko.

 

Family and friends may call Sunday from 3-6 PM at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor. A blessing service will be held at 6:15 PM by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli.  Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Taylor.
