Obituary of Anna Mae Hrobuchak

Anna Mae Hirjak Hrobuchak, of Northeast Pennsylvania and formerly of Cochiti, New Mexico, died Sunday evening at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa.

 

Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Sotak Hirjak. She was a graduate of Taylor High School and after graduation, she lived on Snook Street in Scranton. Her life was dedicated to raising her family.  She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Taylor. Anna Mae had a strong devotion to St. Ann and Mary, Mother of God, praying the rosary daily.

 

Surviving is a son, Stephen and wife, Janis; three daughters, Mary Ann Avery and husband, David, all of N. Abington, Township; Karen Hrobuchak, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lisa Pyne and husband, Brian, Greensboro, North Carolina; eight grandchildren;, Nadine Solomon, Mark Avery, Nichol Jones, Stephen, John and Tyler Hrobuchak, Courtney, Stephanie and Chelsea Pyne; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth, a son, Mark and five brothers, who all were veterans.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend Anna Mae’s funeral which will begin on Friday at 12:30 p.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor, followed by Divine Liturgy at 1 pm in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Oak Street, Taylor by the Rev. Eduard Shestak, pastor.  Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.  Friends may call Friday 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
