Obituary of Helen R. Strojek

Helen R. Strojek, 95, of Scranton, died Sunday afternoon at Geisinger Mountain View Care Center, after a brief illness.

Born on August 26, 1922 in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Stec Strojek. Helen was a graduate of Taylor High School. After graduation, she enlisted in the US Marine Corp during WWII. After being honorable discharged, Helen continued her career with the Federal government working for the Office of Congressional Relations and the Federal Trade Commission, Washington D.C., until her retirement. She was a lifelong parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church, West Scranton and she volunteered for Meals on Wheels in the Washington D.C. area.

Surviving are a brother, John, Odessa Texas; her nephew, Nick Colacicco and wife, Trish, who were her care givers and additional nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by a brother, Joseph; a twin sister, Mary, Loretta Colacicco and Estelle Smith.

Nick and Trish Colacicco, would like to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care given 

to "Aunt Helen" by Natalie and all the staff of Geisinger Mountain View Care Center. They also, would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all their compassion and care.

Funeral services will be private, and burial in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Taylor
