Obituary of Anna Prokopovitsh

Anna Markovitch Prokopovitch, of Taylor, died five days before her 97 birthday.  Her husband, Albert died October 21, 1980.

 

Born in Taylor on January 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Susan Sliviak Markovitch.  Prior to her retirement, Anna enjoyed working with the students in the Riverside School District’s cafeteria.  She was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Basilica.

 

Surviving is a daughter, Ann Marie Otto, Old Forge; a son, Raymond, Orbisonia; six grandchildren, Stephen Derenick and wife, Leslie, Deborah D’Agostino and husband Joseph, Michelle Derenick, Nicole Chuta and husband Edward, Sandy and Lynette Prokopovitch; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Foglietta and Marie Donovan, both of Old Forge; nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by three sons, John, Allan, and Mark J.; two brothers, John and George; two sisters, Olga Estok and Mary Barbieri.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, 537 Venard Road Clarks Summit, PA. 18411

 

Anna’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Lackawanna Health Care, Olyphant and Dr. Stephen Jaditz for their outstanding care and compassion.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend Ann’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 10 am in St. Ann’s Basilica.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Olyphant.  There will be no calling hours.
