Obituary of Stephen Walter Bryk

Stephen Walter Bryk, 57, of Avoca, entered into rest unexpectedly on his birthday November 20 at his home in Avoca.

Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Anthony E. and Stella H. Drouse Bryk. He was a 1978 graduate of Pittston Area High School.  Throughout his life, Stephen worked in construction and was employed by Tiger Hill, as a foreman.  He was an avid outdoorsmen, hunting in Canada for elk and caribou and deep sea fishing.  In the summer months, he took pride in his garden and sitting on his back porch.  Stephen was a parishioner of Queen of the Apostles Church, Avoca.

Surviving are two sisters, Helen McHugh and Theresa Bryk; a brother, Anthony Bryk Jr; an Aunt, Lottie Nyzio, two nieces, Kimberly and Stefanie McHugh and additional nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Mary Ann Tobin.

Family and friends are invited to attend Stephen’s Blessing Service which will be held on Wednesday at 10 am in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor with services by the Rev. Joseph G. Elston.  Interment will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Moosic.  Friends may call Wednesday 9 am till 10 am.
