Obituary of Robert B. Graham

Robert B. Graham, 69, Scranton, formally of Taylor, died Tuesday at home.  His wife is the former Mary Jane Evans Graham. They would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on December 28th.

Born April 27, 1948 in Scranton he was the son of the late Robert and Mabel Evans Graham. Bob was a graduate of Taylor-Moosic High School, Class of 1966. He then joined the US Army, proudly serving in Vietnam obtaining the rank of Specialist 5, he served with the 1st Air Calvary Division and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Purple Heart; Expert Rifle; Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars; Army Commendation Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Air Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. He then joined the Army National Guard and was award numerous meritorious Medals and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Bob was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot as a work leader in Electronics retiring after 25 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylor, American Legion Post 306, Taylor and a proud member of the NRA.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending “quality” time with his grandchildren, teaching them the true values of life.  He was a avid NY Jets and NY Yankee fan. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and Uncle.  He was a hard worker, a patriot and our hero.

Surviving are his loving children, David Graham and wife Lois Ann and Daughter Karen Graham and Fiancé, Frank Jordan, all of Taylor.  Grandchildren, David, Ryan, Julia, Gabrielle, Cayden and Benjamin.  Brother,   Edward “Ned” Graham and wife Betty Ann, Dalton; sister, Lorraine Gable, Great Bend, PA. Nieces and Nephews.

 He was preceded in death by a son Robert “Robbie” Benjamin Graham on Feb. 16, 2014 and a sister Kathy Dubanowitz and a brother Bill Hurley and his step-mother Gladys “Peg” Graham.

 Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob’s funeral service on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor, with the Rev. Donald Roberts, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Newton Cemetery, Newton Twp.  Family and friends may call Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
