Obituary of Mark M. Batcha

Mark M. Batcha, 56, of Scranton died Monday, August 21, 2017 at Geisinger Community Medical Center of Scranton, PA. Surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Batcha was born March 20, 1961 in Scranton, PA. He is the son of the late Joseph and Jane Ann (Seip) Batcha. 

He was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1979. Mark worked for many years for Insalaco Supermarkets later moving on to Kane Warehouse, finally working at Brownie’s Pizza before health issues forced his retirement.

An avid football fan, He faithfully followed the New Orleans Saints.  

He is survived by two daughters; Jordan Elizabeth Batcha and Fiancé Neil Buerdsell of Scranton, PA and Cassie Batcha of Scranton, PA, two sons; Mark John Batcha and Zachary Batcha, brother; Jeffery J. Batcha and his spouse Mary of Taylor, Nephew; Joshua Batcha of Taylor, former wife; Joan O’Donnell Peters, Aunts; Suzanne Batcha and Beverly Jordan, Uncle; Michael Batcha, his faithful companion Penny and several cousins.

The family would like to thank the Geisinger Community Medical Center I.C.U. staff for their compassionate and loving care.

Friends are invited to attend Mark’s funeral which will begin at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 25 at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union Street, Taylor, PA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home on Friday evening.
