Obituary of Caroline A. Verchuk

Caroline A. Verchuk, 91, of Moosic passed away Sunday afternoon. Her beloved husband, Chester M. died January 28, 2008.

Born March 20, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Paul and Alexandra Jachinski Kania. Caroline was a lifelong parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish and St. Mary’s Czestochowa Church, Moosic.  For many years, she worked for the former Capital Records.

Caroline enjoyed her life to the fullest, when she wasn’t gardening or grooming her flowers she enjoyed making Sunday meals for her family and spending time with her dog, Oreo.  She was an avid Phillies fan and will be remembered for her excellent cooking.

She was survived by her four sons; Chester and wife, Tina, of N. Abington Township, Carl, of Moosic, Clark and wife, Lisa, of Moscow, and Chris and wife, Laurel, of Scranton; a brother; Frank Kania, and a sister; Stella Dalbo, both of Moosic; two grandchildren, Marissa and Eli Verchuk; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six sisters; Francis Symuleski, Sophie Glogowski, Bridget Lipisko, CecilaSklanka, Mary and Josephine Kania and three brothers, Peter, Joseph and Walter.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral for Caroline which will begin on Friday at 9:45 AM from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton,by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli, pastor. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Czestochowa Cemetery, Moosic.  Friends may call Thursday5-8 PM at the funeral home.
