Obituary of Stanley R. Gable

Stanley R. Gable, 76, of Taylor, died Wednesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His beloved wife, the former Eileen Werner Gable, died August, 1985.

 

Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Nellie Tasber Gable. Stanley was a graduate of Taylor Moosic High School and proudly served our country with the US Army. Prior to his retirement, he worked for RCA and Thompson Consumer Electronics, Dunmore for 35 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and pierogi making. His granddaughters were the apple of his eye and he cherished each moment spent with them. Stanley was an avid Dodgers and Eagles fan.

 

Surviving are three children, Christopher M. Gable and Maureen Burch and husband, John, all of Taylor; Kevin P. Gable, Cressona; six grandchildren, Morgan and Trinity Gable; Kenyah, Makayla, Sydny and Avery Burch; two sisters, Veronica DePaola, Springville and Regina Holland, Lake Butler, FL; nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph and a sister, Dolores Cunningham.

 

Family and friends are invited to attend Stanley Blessing service which will be held on Monday at 7 pm in the Semian Funeral Home 704 Union St., Taylor by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli, pastor of Divine Mercy Parish, Scranton. Interment will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 PM.
