Linda had a reputation of being a tough but fair teacher at PSU. One day she walked outside of her classroom and smiled while asking "did you know my students are watching you on your tractor instead of listening to her?" From that point forward I peeked into that classroom to make sure the coast was clear. But the day I saw her pitching mulch from atop our truck into wheelbarrows on campus cleanup day, is when I realized how tough she really was. The truck was almost empty and in her colorful use of words she mentioned that we better her another truckload. Rest in Peace Linda, our thoughts and prayers are with your family and thanks for being yourself.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I teach at Penn State University, University Park, and did not have any personal interaction with your wife/mom but I do want to express my sympathy. I do know how hard she must have worked to have such an accomplished career in nursing. You must be very proud of her. And I do know how family vacations at the ocean are a source of great family joy. This verse from Matthew gives me comfort in times of grief. "Blessed are they who mourn for they shall be comforted."

I am saddened to learn of Linda's passing. I worked with Linda at CMC ICU.. she as an instructor, me as a staff nurse. In her spare moments we would share our knowledge about nursing.. hers much greater than mine, maybe even debate a little. What was always amazing is she always made me feel smarter, validated my points, and actually made me smarter because she always willingly shared her thoughts with me... The last time I saw her she said she was doing better and feeling well.. and that she missed our discussions.... she was always kind and always thinking of others.. Kate.. you were her shining star, her eyes lighting up every time she spoke of you ... remember her well and speak of her often.. you and we were all blessed to know her and have her in our lives no matter how long or how short...She made the world a better place! Take comfort that she is no longer suffering.. take comfort in your memories of her and in the family and friends who will remember her with you... prayers for Peace Hope and Courage in the time to come ....
With my deepest sympathy

I am shocked and devastated to hear of Linda's passing. The local medical community has suffered a great loss. She was the most knowledgeable nurse and kindest person. My sympathies to Linda's family. Especially to her husband and daughter. Linda was by far the most Knowledgeable nurse I have ever known. In the 20+ years I spent at CMC I have see her compassion and dedication to the profession. She never hesitated to teach a new nurse or to bring an old nurse up to date. I was always amazed by her spirit and was lucky enough to attend her educational seminars at the Trauma course and ACLS. Such a great loss!
