Obituary of J. Dennis Kryzanowski

J. Dennis Kryzanowski, of Dunmore, died Friday morning at home. His wife of 43 years, is the former Mary Mozeleski.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Kincel Kryzanowski. Dennis graduated from Taylor High School, Class of 1960, and he received his Bachelors of Science and his Master's degree from the University of Scranton. For thirty-four years, he worked for the Riverside Junior-Senior High School as a coach, teacher, vice principal and principal. Following retirement, he worked for Related Legal Courier Services for 14 years. He was an active 47 year member and past president of the Taylor Lions Club. He also was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and a parishioner of St. Paul/St. Clare parish.

Dennis' family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their outstanding care that they provided and a special thank you to Dennis' care manager Maureen McAliney, R.N.

The family would also like to thank our family, friends, and especially our neighbors for their constant source of comfort and compassion,along with a special thanks to Father Don Williams. We will never forget their kindness during these difficult times.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Danny and wife, Vanessa, Austin, TX; a daughter, Amy Howe and husband, Josh, Philadelphia; a grandson, Alexander Rafael Kryzanowski; a brother, Jim, and wife, Joan, Scranton; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Levis, and her husband, Robert.

Family and friends are invited to attend Dennis' Funeral Mass, which will be held on Saturday, May 27 at 11 am in St. Clare Church. 2235 North Washington Ave. Scranton. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 11 am at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to any Lions Club, food bank or Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA, 18702.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor.
