Obituary of Matthew C. Belensky
Matthew C. Belensky, 92, a life long resident of Taylor, died Thursday at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center. His beloved wife of 46 years, the former Irene J. O�(TM)Leary died May 23, 2003. Born and educated in Taylor, he was the son of the late Eurio and Barbara Kavulich Belensky. Throughout his life, Mat worked for CCD Camps in New Jersey and New York, worked at Consolidated Molded Products for thirty-eight years and retired form Doherty Company. He was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, Taylor. Mat enjoyed sports, was a gentle and loving man, who loved his family and friends, but most of all he had a great devotion to God and his faith. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but he will remain in their hearts. Also surviving is a daughter, Marie E. Belensky, Taylor; several sister and brother-in-laws, Pat and Joe Koester, Mary Ann Gutowski, all of Scranton; Bob and Linda O�(TM)Leary, Waverly, Agnes and Paul Haddock, Avoca, Lenore Belensky, NJ, many nieces and nephews. Five brothers, John, Cyril, Edward, Al and Michael and a sister Sister Methodius, Sisters of St. Francis preceded him in death. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor. Interment will take place in Cathedral cemetery.
