Obituary of Walter G. Meisinger

Walter G. “Butch” Meisinger Jr., 68, of Old Forge, died Wednesday afternoon after an illness. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Walter G. and Freida Jones Meisinger, was a graduate of West Scranton High School and honorably served our country in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years at Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp. and later at Big John�(TM)s Inc., Bath. Butch was a kind and giving man, who had a wonderful and charming personality with the gift of making everyone feel special. He was hilariously funny and very quick-witted. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his children. The family would like to thank Drs. Andrea Wessel, Christian Adonizio and Mercy Hospice. Surviving are a son, Walter G., III and wife, Barbara, West Chester; two daughters, Shelly Barhight and fiancé, Timmy Morris, Old Forge, with whom he resided; Lisa Graff and husband, Chris, Moosic; three grandsons, Benjamin and Nicklaus Meisinger and Christopher Graff; Several nieces and Nephews. A sister, Marion Meisinger Sharpe preceded him in death. A private service will be held from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor followed by interment with military honors in Washburn Street Cemetery.
