Obituary of Ann Pivovarnik

Ann Pivovarnik, 92, of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday morning on her birthday at the Jewish Home. Her husband Joseph died May 2, 1995. Born on June 30, 1918, in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Stephania Rydzanycz Basalyga. For many years, Ann assisted her late husband with their family business Joe's Radiator. She was a life long and devoted parishioner of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, belong to the alter society and faithfully went to help make pierogies. Her church and her family was the center of her life. Surviving are four sons, Eugene J. and wife, Annette; Adrian P. and wife, Nancy; Joseph J. and John A. and wife, Phyllis, all of Clarks Summit; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a brother, Ted Basalyga and wife, Florence, Clarks Summit; six sisters, Olga Dzbinski, Baltimore, MD; Lovie Swingle, Mary Kneiss, Delores Naglak and husband, Donald, Sonja Fueshko and husband, Stephen, all of Clarks Summit; Daria Schuster and husband, Dimitri, Scranton. Many nieces and nephews. A grandson Jeffrey J., who died June 27, 2006, and four brothers, John, Peter, Russell and Joseph Basalyga, preceded her in death. The funeral will be Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor followed by services at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Jefferson & Vine St. by the Rev. Donald Valasek, pastor. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 5-8 pm. Parastas services will be at 4:30pm.
