Obituary of Mary Halchak
Mary Halchak, 91, of Old Forge, died Saturday at home. Her husband Nicholas died Mach 1, 1994. Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anastasia Lewitsky Kenjerski and was a 1938 graduate of Taylor High School. For many years, Mary was an administrative secretary for the Ukrainian Workmen�s Association and during this time, she translated many papers from Ukrainian to English. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Michael�s Orthodox Church, Old Forge. Mary loved her church and lived her life accordingly and she will be remembered for her kindness and goodness to others. Her sons and her grandchildren were the light of her life and they will deeply miss her. Surviving is a son, Nicholas Halchak and wife, Carol, Montville, NJ; a daughter-in-law Alyce Marie Halchak, Montclair, NJ; three grandchildren, Nicole Marie Halchak, Montville, NJ; David G. Halchak, Denver, Co and Michael T. Halchak, New York City; a great grandson William Jones; a sister, Olga Moniak, Old Forge; Nieces and Nephews. A son Dr. Theodore, who died December 15, 2006 and two brothers, Mereslow �Russ� and Vladimir Kenjerski preceded her in death. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor followed by services at 10 a.m. in St. Michaels� Orthodox Church, 512 Summer St., Old forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. John Soucek, pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Old Forge. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9.
