Obituary of Gloria Stankiewicz
Gloria Andrejack Stankiewicz, 73, of Taylor, died Thursday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital Intensive Care Unit. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Stanley H. Stankiewicz. Born in Scranton on June 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Tokar Andrejack. Throughout her life, Gloria centered everything around her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, who will be missed dearly. Gloria enjoyed going to Canada in the summer months with her husband Butch, who was her best friend. Also surviving are four daughters, Sharon Capalongo and husband, Frank, Taylor; Shelley Spano, Scranton; Sandra Svadeba and husband, Stephen, Taylor; Susan McNamara, Taylor; Six grandchildren, Amy Capalongo, Stacey Canfield and husband, Jonathan, Sloan Svadeba, Bradley McNamara, Shannon and Michele Spano; a great granddaughter, Mia Capalongo; a sister Dolores Kurtzo and husband, Samuel, Scranton; a brother Robert Andrejack and wife, Faith, Taylor; Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU at Moses Taylor Hospital and the Moses Taylor Home Health, Doctors Sallavanti, Prior, Getts and Shetty for their care, compassion and understanding at this most difficult time. Gloria's farewell is Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Prince of Peace Parish, St. Mary's Church, Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. Louis T. Kaminski, pastor. Interment will follow in Holy Cross cemetery, Old Forge.
