Obituary of Pauline Malinko Marek

Pauline Malinko Marek, 93, of West Scranton, died Tuesday evening at Mercy Hospice. Her first husband Stanley Malinko, died May 16, 1956 and her second husband, Stanley Marek, died June 5, 1988. Born and educated in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Serbin Rostatsky. Pauline was a faithful parishioner of St. Ann's Basilica. Her family was the center of her life and she will be dearly missed. Surviving are four children, Audrey Thomas and husband, John; Irene Churla and husband Daniel; Gary Malinko and wife, Michelle all of Old Forge; Stanley Malinko and wife, Patricia, Duryea; Five grandchildren, Sharon Thomas, Donna Mursell, Daniel Churla, Jr., Nicole and Gary Malinko Jr.; a great grandson, Daniel Churla III; a sister Mary Terbovich, Scranton; several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and six sisters preceded her in death. A special thank you is extended to her niece Elizabeth Stefani, who gave up her weekends for the past two years to give wonderful care to her aunt. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Ann's Basilica. Interment St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call Sunday 3-6.
