Obituary of Betty Millian Kaeufer

Betty Millian Kaeufer, known to family members as Aunt Betty, Mom, and Grandma, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2010 in Irving, TX. Betty was born In Old Forge in 1927, the 8th of 9 children of the late Dimitri and Anna Dedick Millian, and grew up in the family-built home at 315 Church Street. She was preceded in death by husbands Stephan Janda and Ernest Kaeufer, as well as siblings Julia, Elsie, Mary, John, Paul, Walter and Eugene Millian. Betty left Old Forge in 1959, and had the opportunity to live in VA, MI, NJ, FL and TX, as well as travel throughout parts of the world. Betty was a devoted aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and was so grateful to God and appreciative of His goodness to her through all of her family members and the full life He gave her. We agree, and also say "Thank you, Lord, for Your love and kindness which You have shown to us through your servant, Betty." Amen, and amen. Surviving is a son, Dennis Janda, Irving, TX; a daughter Sandra Kaeufer, FL; a sister Matushka Doris Mason, and husband Fr John Mason, Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren Amy and Geoffrey, great grandchildren Elise and James, and many deeply loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. While living in FL, Betty was a parishioner of St. Mary's Orthodox Church, West Palm Beach, and since 2001 a member of St. Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral, Dallas, TX as well as St. Tikhon's Church, South Canaan, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 am in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor with services by the Rev. John Mason, brother-in-law. Interment will follow in St. Tikhon's Cemetery, South Canaan.
