Obituary of Cynthia Leggon

Cynthia Leggon, 58, of Taylor, died Sunday morning at Mercy Hospice after a courageous yearlong battle. Born in Taylor on April 25, 1951, she was daughter of the late William Sr. and Anna Martin Leggon. She was a 1969 graduate of Riverside High School and worked for over thirty years at McKinney Corporation. When then they closed she decided to become a certified nurses aid and graduated from Lackawanna County Area Vocational Technical School. Shortly afterwards, she began working for Scranton Health Care. Cynthia was a faithful and devoted parishioner of St. George's Orthodox Church, Taylor, was a member of it's social club and was always their to lend a helping had at the many church functions. Each night when she returned home, her best buddy Cinnamon, was always there waiting to give her unconditional love. To some she was known as Cynthia, Cyndi, or even Red, but she was someone very special to her family all of her friends. Throughout her life, she always had a great sense of humor, was filled with love and warmth to be a caregiver, even under the hardest of times. Each year she took great pride in making ethnic foods for the holidays and inviting many friends. She was a member of the Taurus club and the Waldorf Club. Surviving are two brothers William Jr. and wife, Shirley, Taylor; Robert and wife, Karen, Port Charlotte, Fl; a sister, Ann Rutkowsky, Dickson City; many nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews; devoted friends. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Semian Funeral home, 704 Union St., Taylor followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30 am in St. George's Orthodox Church, 743 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor to be celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Mark Leasure, pastor. Interment is in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8.
