Obituary of Joan Marie Waide

Joan Marie Waide, 55, of Hamlin, died Wednesday morning at Geisinger Hospital, Danville, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She is survived by her husband Jacob and her two devoted sons, Tal J. and Jeffrey A, who were always by her side. On September 3 The couple celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary. Born in Taylor on March 7, 1954, daughter of Sadie Adomiak, Moosic and the late John "Carrots' Marhefka. She was a 1972 graduate of Riverside High School. Prior to her illness, she worked for BAE Systems, Jessup. Joan loved life and two years ago, she fought and over came breast cancer. Throughout her life, she enjoyed to garden, shop, play video poker, fish, go to dinner with family and take cruises. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Her family was the center of her life; cherishing each moment she spent with her husband, devoted sons and sitting on the porch with her loving mother. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. The family would like express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Darren Jacobs, Dr. Richard Martin, Kelly Farrell and Sarah Glenn for their exceptional care, concern and understanding during this difficult time.
