Obituary of Jean Gruczkowski Lamonica

Jean Gruczkowski Lamonica, of Scranton, died Friday afternoon at Moses Taylor Hospital. She is survived by husband James A. Lamonica. They celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary August 15. Born in Taylor, she was daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary A. Pacholec Gruczkowski and a graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1964. Jean graduated from Empire Beauty School and worked for Joseph Trovato Hair Salon for many years. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis Assisi Church. Jean was a most cherished wife, mother, sister and aunt. She also loved her dogs Rocky, Daisy and Jeter. Her children could not have asked for a more sweet and loving mother and they adored her. Jean was a true angel who forever put the needs of others ahead of her own. Now she is an angel in heaven watching over her family. Mom, know that you will always be in our hearts and that we will love you always. Also surviving is a son James A. Jr., Scranton; a daughter Janine, Philadelphia; three sisters, Bernice Stolan, Taylor; Marion York and husband William; Diane M. Ogonosky and husband, Robert, all of Scranton; Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. The funeral will be Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor with Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 630 Genet St., to be celebrated by the Rev.
