Obituary of Henry P. Polinski
Henry "Hank" Polinski Sr., of the Greenwood section of Moosic, died Sunday at the home he was born in. His wife the former Phyllis Posluzny survives him. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary August 30. Born in Scranton on August 23, 1924, he was son of the late Peter and Mary Ann Sevitski Polinski. During WWII, he faithfully served our country with the US Army and was at the invasion of Normandy with the 23rd Tank Battalion. For many years, he lived and worked in Manville, NJ. He was a former member of St. Mary Czestochowa Church, Moosic, the American Legion Connolly Post 568, Minooka Section, Scranton, Veterans of Foreign Wars # 4909, Dupont; and the Knights of Columbus Council 372, Pittston. Hank loved to collect hats and wear a different one each day. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Also surviving is a son Henry Jr. and wife, Lisa, Hillsborough, NJ; a daughter Ann Marie Sujansky and husband, Daniel, Neshanic Station, NJ; three grandchildren, Brad, Amanda and Brian; a Brother Stanley, Scranton; Nieces and Nephews Two twin brothers, Joseph and Edward, preceded him in death The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Joseph, 312 Davis St., to be celebrated by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor. Interment with military honors will take place on Friday at 12 noon in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hillsborough, NJ. Friends may call Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
