Obituary of David N. Morris

David N. “Trooper” Morris Sr., formally of Old Forge, died Wednesday morning at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes Barre. He is survived by his devoted companion Geraldine A. Lisowski, Old Forge. Born September 11, 1945, in Scranton, son of the late Robert and Blodwin Jones Morris. David was a graduate of Taylor Moosic High School Class of 1963, and proudly served with the US Marines during the Vietnam War. His decorations and citations included the Presidential Unit Citation, the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Mast. From 1970 until his retirement in 1991, “Trooper” worked for the Pennsylvania State Police, and his territory encompassed the Pennsylvania Turnpike from Everett to Clarks Summit. David was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and an avid Penn State and Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved the game of golf, especially playing at Pine Hills Country Club, Taylor. Also surviving are a daughter, Meredith Mead and husband, David, and their children, Dana and Danica, Palmerton; two sons, David Jr. and wife, Jodi, and their children, Dylan and Austin, Dunmore; Timothy, and his sons, Jonathan and Jared, Old Forge; a sister Nancy Browne and husband, David, Ohio; three brothers, William and wife, Joyce, Nevada; Phillip, Florida; and Robert and wife, Betty Jane, Florida; He was preceded in death by a brother Jay. Family and Friends are invited to David�(TM)s funeral Service Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union Street, Taylor, by the Rev. Deb Hoffman, Pastor, Effort United Methodist Church. Interment with Military Honors, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Old Forge. Calling hours Friday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
