Obituary of Dorothy Wasmucky

Mrs. Dorothy Wasmucky, of Taylor, died Sunday evening at the Taylor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Stanley E. Wasmucky Sr., who died July 19, 1985. Born October 7, 1925, she was daughter of the late Frank and Frances Ciesielski Janczyk. She was educated in Scranton Parochial schools and graduated from West Scranton High in 1943. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the former Vermont Sportswear, Taylor and was a life long parishioner of SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church. West Scranton. Dorothy was a wonderful and devoted wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who loved to cook and bake for her family to enjoy. She enjoyed shopping, bingo and watching her favorite soap operas and game shows. Every moment she spent with her grandchildren was cherished. One of her many attributes was to see the best in people no matter what the circumstances. Surviving is a daughter Donna M. Negvesky, and husband, Henry, Taylor; a son Stanley E. at home; a grandson Randy and wife, Tara, Old Forge; a brother, Mr. Frank Yancik, Colorado; Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Christine Burgerhoff on April 6, 1996; four sisters, Helen Gregorczyk, Rose Drula, Ann Boyarsky and Mary Wrobleski; two brothers Henry Yancik and Valentine Janczyk. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral, Friday, September 25th at 9:00 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in SS Peter & Paul Church, West Locust St., Scranton, celebrated by the Rev. Samual J. Ferretti, Pastor. Committal Rites will follow in the parish cemetery, Taylor.
