Obituary of Ronald J. Gieski

Ronald J. Gieski, of Dalton, died Monday evening at Mercy Hospital. He is survived by his wife the former Debra Ann Talerico. They celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary February 24. Born in Scranton, he is son of Ronald and Frances Ferraro Gieski, Dickson City and was a 1976 graduate of Mid Valley High School. Ron worked for the United States Postal service as a letter carrier for the past fifteen years. He loved his job and took great pride not only in his work but also in caring for the many people on his route in Taylor. Ron was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 17 and a leader for the Valley Equestrian Four H Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his farm in Dalton. Even though Ron is gone, his love will remain in the hearts and memories of his family and many friends. Also surviving are four daughters, Charity Marianelli, Old Forge; Shannon Gieski, Dayton, FL; Breann Gieski, Carbondale; Kyla Gieski, at home; two sons, Michael Cohowicz, Old Forge and Ronald J. Gieski, Moosic; three grandchildren, Brian and Kendal Marianelli; Shane Gieski; two brothers, Walter, Montrose, and Robert, Florida; many nieces and nephews. An infant sister preceded him in death. A blessing service will be held on Friday at 7:45 pm at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor by the Rev. Joseph Elston. Friends may call Friday 5 pm until the time of service.
