Obituary of William P. Schuster

William P. Schuster, 71, of Taylor, died Wednesday, August 26, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife the former Kathryn Fotta died June 12, 1984. He is survived by his fiancée of twenty-two years Barbara Chmiel. Born April 5, 1938 in Scranton, he was son of the late Joseph and Mary Chromey Schuster. He Proudly and faithfully served our country during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Bill worked for the former Thompson Electronics for more than 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 306, Taylor and served as the judge of elections in the fourth ward for many years. Bill enjoyed collecting Hess toy trucks and matchbox cars. In his youth, he enjoyed the game of horseshoes. Bill and Barbara loved to travel, especially to Atlantic City. Bill loved the summer, had a green thumb when it came to plants and made a fishpond, which everyone admired. He enjoyed the N.F.L. and his favorite football team was the San Francisco 49ers. Also surviving are a daughter Patricia Patchoski, Dupont; a son Jeff and wife, Renee, Moosic; four grandchildren, Kathryn, Sabrina, Corey and Cassie; two step-sons, Christopher Chmiel, Scranton and Joseph Chmiel, Clarks Summit; two brothers, Richard and wife Dottie, the Villages, Fl; Henry and companion Janet Nelson, Nicholson; a sister Dorothy Drozd, Manville, NJ; Nieces and Nephews He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph, three sisters, Gertrude Zimak, Marion Gerrity and Eleanor Sable. A blessing service will be held on Sunday at 4:30 pm by the Rev. Francis Pauselli in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor. Friends may call 2 pm- 4:30 pm.
