Obituary of Thomas R. Coleman

Thomas R. Coleman, 67, of Scranton, died Wednesday evening at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice E. Spooner and together they have celebrated 46 years of marriage.

 

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Catherine Norton Coleman.    In 1969, Tom graduated from St. Patrick’s High School.  Throughout his life, he was a truck driver and after retirement, he worked part time for Sarno and Sons.  His family was the center of his life and he enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. Tom looked forward to visiting with his friends at the lake and going to the 606 Club each week.  Tom also was a coach for the West Side Falcons Jr. football team and the Lackawanna Little League for years.  He was an avid Penn State and Carolina Panthers fan. 

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons; Thomas, Scranton; Brian and companion, Jennifer Cusick, Olyphant and Mark and companion, Melissa Vinciguerra, Scranton; three grandchildren, Hunter, Brianna and Ariel; a brother, Paul Howard, and wife, Gloria, Clarks Summit; a sister, Catherine Vigilante and husband, Bill, Scranton, nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law, Kristine and Michelle Coleman; 5 brothers and 1 sister.

 

Family and friends may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St. Taylor.
